Peer groups are enabled and encouraged to discuss and analyse sensitive issues and PRA (Participatory Rural Apraisal tools and graphics are used to facilitate this process.

Peer Educator training focusses on the following themes:
  • The concepts of peer education and reproductive health;
  • Adolescent development and psychological, social and cultural changes;
  • Male and female anatomy - genital organs and the menstrual cycle;
  • Youth and sexuality;
  • The causes and consequences of unwanted pregnancy and forced abortion;
  • STIs and HIV/AIDS;
  • Family planning;
  • Negative pactices linked to reproductive health and their consequences;
